Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit was given not for complacency, but to empower God's people to be faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ. Through Acts 1–2, Matthew 10, Joel 2, and 2 Kings 4, we are called to hunger for the presence of God, come with expectancy, and make room for Him to work in our lives. The Lord pours out His Spirit on those who seek Him and positions His people to carry His message with boldness and obedience. Complacency has no place in the life of a disciple; we are called to remain watchful, surrendered, and ready for whatever God desires to do. As the early church waited on the Lord and was filled with His Spirit, we too are invited to draw near, trust His promises, and walk in His power. May our hearts be stirred to pursue Christ wholeheartedly and faithfully fulfill the mission He has entrusted to His Church.

Temptation is something every believer will face, but Scripture reminds us that God is faithful and always provides a way to stand firm. Real victory begins when we honestly recognize where we are vulnerable, guard our hearts, and refuse to let sinful thoughts take root. Jesus Himself was tempted yet remained without sin, showing us the importance of responding with the truth of God’s Word and complete surrender to the Father. The battle is not won by human strength or willpower, but by walking in the Spirit, praying, and staying rooted in God’s presence. When we continually feed the flesh, we become weak to temptation, but when we strengthen our spirit through prayer and obedience to the Lord, we grow in self-control and discernment. God has not called His people to live defeated, but to stand watchful, faithful, and transformed by His Spirit each day.

The Storms Of Life | Pastor Mike Cornell | Oceans Unite Okeechobee Campus
Sunday May 17, 2026
Sunday May 17, 2026
Storms do not always mean God has abandoned us. Scripture shows that some storms come from disobedience, while others come in the middle of obedience, yet in every situation God remains faithful and present. Jonah reveals the mercy of God that refuses to leave us in rebellion, while Jesus reveals the peace that comes from trusting the Father even in the middle of chaos. Peter learned that the peace of Christ can steady a believer in places that once produced fear, and Paul became a source of courage for others because he trusted the promises of God more than the conditions around him. Trials often expose what is within us, but they also become places where Christ forms deeper faith, endurance, and spiritual maturity. No storm is wasted when it leads us to trust God more fully, walk in obedience, and become a steady witness to those around us.

Mother’s Day 2026 | Pastor Mike Cornell | Oceans Unite Okeechobee Campus
Sunday May 10, 2026
Sunday May 10, 2026
Motherhood was never meant to reflect perfection. It reflects faithfulness. Through every season,
God works through women who pray, nurture, endure, and point the next generation toward Him. Whether you were raised in a home filled with faith or are becoming the first person in your
family to build that foundation, God is able to establish a new legacy through surrendered lives. Scripture reminds us that sincere faith can shape generations, and the quiet obedience of one woman can leave an eternal impact. No season is wasted in the hands of God, not the waiting, not the hardship, not the long prayers prayed in secret. This Mother's Day was a reminder that God still restores families, strengthens the weary, and honors those who faithfully keep Him at
the center of their home.

True Biblical Love | Pastor Mike Cornell | Oceans Unite Christian Centre
Sunday May 03, 2026
Sunday May 03, 2026
Jesus makes it clear that love for Him is not defined by emotion but by obedience to His Word (John 14:23–24). Much of what people call “love” has been shaped by culture, centered on feelings, self-fulfillment, and tolerance. Yet Scripture reveals love as covenantal, truthful, and rooted in surrender to God. Believers are not orphans striving for acceptance, but sons and daughters who have received the Spirit of adoption, called to live from that identity rather than fear (Romans 8:15). Obedience is not a means of earning God’s love, but the evidence that His love is truly at work within us (1 John 5:3). As the mind is renewed by truth, insecurity, self-reliance, and comparison are replaced with trust in the Father and confidence in who we are in Christ. True love for God produces a life that keeps His commandments, walks as Jesus walked, and overcomes the world through faith.

The Laying On Of Hands | Pastor Alex Pappas | Oceans Unite Okeechobee Campus
Sunday Apr 26, 2026
Sunday Apr 26, 2026
Pastor Alex reminded us of a foundational principle in the Christian life that isn’t as prevalent today. Paul describes the laying on of hands as an elementary principle of our faith, yet many believers don’t know about it or see it practiced in our churches.
And yet, it’s something God has established from the beginning. We see the laying on of hands throughout both the Old Testament and the New.
When it is practiced, we see power, impartation, and God directly calling and appointing leaders, no matter how small the role may seem.
May we be zealous to be used by the Lord, to receive spiritual gifts, and to walk fully in the call of God!

The True Word Part 2 | Pastor Mike Cornell | Oceans Unite Okeechobee Campus
Sunday Apr 19, 2026
Sunday Apr 19, 2026
In part 2 of “The True Word” series, Pastor Mike reminded us that a time will come when people turn from truth to what pleases them, but the assignment remains to hold fast to sound doctrine. Jesus showed us that victory over temptation comes through the Word, answering every attack with “It is written.” We must guard against deception that comes through human reasoning and cultural thinking, and stay anchored in what is according to Christ. The Word of God is living and powerful, able to transform the heart and discern what is within us. When we receive it with humility and put it into practice, it produces fruit, brings freedom, and builds us up in truth.

The True Word Part 1 | Pastor Mike Cornell | Oceans Unite Okeechobee Campus
Sunday Apr 12, 2026
Sunday Apr 12, 2026
The Word of God is the only true standard. God-breathed, unchanging, and sufficient to equip us for every good work. We are called to submit to it fully, not adding to it or reshaping it to fit culture, but aligning our lives with its truth. When truth is resisted, many will seek voices that affirm their desires, but the charge remains to hold fast to sound doctrine and proclaim it faithfully. Jesus Himself answered every temptation with "It is written," showing that victory
comes through knowing and standing on the Word. Receiving the Word with humility and putting it into practice transforms the heart and guards us from deception. So let the Word dwell richly in you. Speak it, live it, and obey it, because true
freedom, growth, and fruit come through abiding in the truth.
